Bane The Devil Roses Volume 2 Tara Brown TL Brown Books

Book 2 of the Devil's Roses is like nothing I've ever read before. I don't know where or how the author comes up with her ideas, but they are fabulous! I love to read about the supernatural, and thought that every type of "super-being" had already been written and over done. Then comes Ari. WOW. I've never know a character to have the type of powers that Ari has. I don't want to spoil what she can do, but I can tell you she has a talent that EVERYONE in the world has wished for. But Ari shows us the consequences of having this power-and it doesn't always come up "smelling like Roses".
It is in this book that we learn a little of where the name Devil's Roses comes from. But I think we need a little more clarification. Hopefully the next book will help us out with that. Oh-and wait until you MEET the Devil! The author had a good time with that concept-I loved it!
I still had some confusion with some of the scenes-one being when Ari appears in the alley for the first time. You really need to put your heart and soul into reading this book- make sure you have time to savor it like you would a really really good chocolate. Take your time and become the invisible follower of Ari and her new group of friends.
There is one point in the book that I really don't understand how the author jumped from Ari speaking with Mitch, to being a prisoner, to setting everything right. Beyond that, the book is great. I will ask, howerver, if you read this book, and get to the place I'm talking about (you'll know it when you get there), drop me a line. I just don't see the connections in this part of the book.

Bane The Devil Roses Volume 2 Tara Brown TL Brown Books Reviews

Once again Tara Brown nails it! Great storytelling continues in this installment of the Devil's Roses Series. We get to keep our same characters and add a few more and they all mesh smoothly. This book is intense, keeps you on the edge of your seat. I couldn't put it down. It draws out every emotion imaginable. It is witty, good, evil, humorous, happy, and sad--what a roller coaster! Can't wait to read Hyde. I would certainly recommend this book (this series) read in order to anyone! No matter your preference in the paranormal buffet you will find it here!

Poor editing, misspellings, improper punctuation. It takes my attention off of the story and detracts from the superb storyline. I wish Brown would find new editors. I think it would help her tremendously. I will be happy to proofread for you!
I love to read series, mostly fantasy novels for fun. Tara Brown is a pretty good entertaining writer. I read the light series and the Devils Roses Series. The Devils Roses has a lot to do with angels, devils, vampires, fae etc The only thing is one of the characters has the ability to alter the past and does so several times in each book. I am amazed at how the author keeps track of which reality she is in because it is definitely a brain tease that you will either find intriguing or completely annoying. I also noticed that the love/sex scenes become more frequent and more graphic as you move through the series. I don't mind them but sometimes I feel like it takes away from the story line when it is overdone and her last books were a bit overdone. It does not compare to Hunger Games or Lord of the Rings but like I said it is a pretty entertaining read.
How do I start this review? Hmm...I really, really liked it!! I loved how Ari was introduced. And I love her power! It's unique and I've never seen it done in any other books I've read thus far. I love how you see things through Ari and Aimee in this install.
Ari has this unique gift that the dark side wants to destroy. She meets the most wonderful mother figure named Lydia, a ghost maid named Annabelle, a demon, a vampire and a few shifters. Ari falls in love only to have that reality changed and she struggles to right the wrongs in her past. She doesnt realize that when she alters one life, she changes everything. You then follow Ari and Aimee live in different realities loving and living differently.
I can honestly say that The Devil's Roses is fast becoming one of my favorite series I've read. I can't wait to see what happens in Hyde, the third install in this series.
Kudos Tara on yet another amazing read!
It took me some time to remember the first book since this one was written from Ari's POV and I didn't make a connection until Aimee's part came in. But that really didn't matter since this book didn't depend on the first one.

At first I was a little confused when Ari's life shifted but it was really well written so I was anxious to find out what's it all about. I expected for her life to change again when she pushed back that horrible priest but I didn't think it would affect the others like her at Lydia's. That was an unsuspected twist and I loved it.

Lucas wasn't portrayed anything but a possessive and protective werewolf at the beginning so it was interesting to see how the relationship changed after the twist. But I couldn't really understand how that could have happened since they're supposed to be mates. You can't just choose another one. But it all played out beautifully with a couple of more surprises. A really good read.
I read this one, then HAD to read the rest of the series. Tara Brown is a good writer, but wish I had read one of her other series, as by the time I've finished all of ‘Cursed’, I almost feel psychotic. I’m sure she felt that way herself by the end of this series. Makes you wish she had killed off Ari quickly.
This series is a little to mature for YA, but a little too YA for mature readers. That aside, it is also compelling and Ms Brown and her editors are to be commended for being able to keep the various storylines straight. This is the ultimate book series for fans of “Do-Overs’. Some of the main characters in each story are a little light and not fleshed out really well.
Now I have to go read her ‘Light’ series. If I like that one, then I will purchase the next step of this series, which is ‘Redeemers’. Right now I need a break from do-over Ari, confused Aimie, horrible Hanna and mean-girl Giselle.
Go ahead, read the free first book -You’ll get hooked, just like I did.
